Experience

Andrew Rowe has 25 years of progressive experience in leading the start-up and turnaround of growth-oriented businesses in the technology, industrial and healthcare sectors. He is an accomplished builder of high performance teams, providing products and services to Fortune 500/Global 2000 companies. His expertise includes corporate strategy, sales & marketing, operations, project management, HR, finance, information systems, and international operations.

Currently, Andrew serves as President & CEO of AllMed Healthcare Management, a healthcare services firm which provides medical review services to leading health insurance carriers, medical management firms, TPAs and major hospital groups nationwide.  The company has averaged over 30% annual growth under his leadership.

Andrew is also CEO of Cube Management, a Sales & Marketing recruiting and consulting firm based in Portland, Oregon, with a nation-wide clientele.

From 1995 to 2000, Andrew served as Executive Vice President, shareholder and Board member of Cascade General in Portland, Oregon. He led the acquisition and turnaround of the company in 1995, when it was $35 million in debt and on the verge of bankruptcy. Under his leadership, the company grew from $44 million to over $110 million in average annual revenues, and emerged as the US market leader in large ship repair and conversion. With P&L responsibility for 3 business units, he built and managed alliances with affiliates of BP, Exxon, Chevron, Unocal, the US Navy, the Army Corps of Engineers, and other international shipping firms. He led strategic and cultural change initiatives in sales, marketing, customer service, project management, industrial safety and human resources. In mid-2000, the company successfully acquired the shipyard complex from the Port of Portland.  He continues to be a shareholder of the company.

Andrew spent 10 years at Adept Technology, a Silicon Valley start-up which grew to international leadership in factory automation controls, robotics and software supplied to Fortune 500/Global 2000 manufacturers. Major customers included Motorola, Intel, Philips, HP, Lucent, IBM Ford, JVC, Delphi, Daimler Chrysler, Boeing, Honeywell and others. As Vice President and Manager of the largest division of the company, he had P&L responsibility for more than $60 million in revenues and managed both domestic and international field operations. He was instrumental in taking the company into new vertical markets and distribution channels, and expanding its product lines and professional service businesses. The company went through a successful IPO in 1995.

Andrew was Vice President of Adept’s International Division, which he started and built to over $15 million in annual sales and 30% of company revenues. Andrew negotiated and managed a manufacturing licensing & distribution deal with Kawasaki Heavy Industries in Japan, and spent 4 years in Paris, France, starting and building subsidiaries throughout the European region. The company achieved European market leadership during his tenure, against competitors including IBM, Seiko, Panasonic and ABB.

In 1983-84, Andrew was Asia-Pacific Sales & Marketing Manager for BankAmerica World Trade Corporation, a start-up which acted as the international sales & distribution arm of several American high technology manufacturers. He built/managed joint ventures and subsidies in Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China and Singapore, focused on the sale and service of computer systems and electronic production equipment.

From 1982 to 1984, Andrew was Regional Sales Manager, Asia Pacific & Latin America for Marco International, a Seattle-based manufacturing and export trading company with extensive overseas operations. He managed a direct sales office and joint venture in Mexico and led the company’s drive into the Asia/Pacific region.

Andrew’s early career was in international sales, marketing and leadership development, including several years of oversees assignments. He started and built an operation in Costa Rica, was a Regional Marketing Manager for an export trading company in Bogotá, Colombia, was Director of the Americas for an international organization based in Brussels, Belgium and served as Interim Regional Manger for Electrolux Southeast Asia in Singapore. During this period, he traveled extensively through Europe, Asia and Latin America.

He has participated in ongoing management training and education programs throughout his career. He is involved in a variety of community leadership activities, including entrepreneurial and angel investment organizations, and serves as an advisor and Board member to local technology startups.  He enjoys leading workshops with CEOs focused on building and leading high performance sales programs.

"Andrew Rowe has the ability to bring order to chaos. He takes a hands-on approach to problem solving and is very results-oriented. He delegates well to those who can get there on their own, and actively manages people to a high standard.

Andrew's management and leadership skills have brought a lot of value to our company. He has built a plan for growing our business, and he is in the process of executing it. His contributions in the areas of sales and marketing, finance, operations and HR have been key to the success we are currently achieving."

Skip Freedman, CEO, AllMed Healthcare Management

“Your initial strategic planning session helped us to prioritize and focus on the critical issues that we faced, and to develop a much-needed 90-day emergency action plan. In helping us to execute it, your hands-on leadership guided us through the tough decisions that were needed to make changes in our strategy, processes, people and culture. In the areas of sales and marketing, financial reporting, production planning and organizational structure, you gave us a renewed sense of direction, as well as the tools and systems that we needed.

An admirable quality that you displayed to Tri-Lett was your well-rounded capabilities. You are very knowledgeable in your industries, and seem to complete the management package very well--surprisingly well actually. Throughout this period, your effective teamwork and communications earned everyone's respect, including our management team, employees, customers and vendors.

One of your biggest contributions was the direct, yet articulated approach you took to working through the dynamics and challenges that a family-owned business faces. “

Within a week, he drafted a master plan for developing a Manufacturer’s Rep network, along with a direct mail program, screening process, evaluation checklist and contract. Andrew’s expertise and background enabled him to quickly understand what we were looking for. His information was always clear, concise, well-organized and well thought out. Having the ability to tap so much knowledge was paramount to implementing our new initiative quickly. Working with Andrew only reinforced the benefit of utilizing a management consultant for this purpose. It would be my pleasure to recommend Andrew to anyone seeking business management expertise.”
